Day 5~Pink Dolphins

Well, I guess yesterday wasn't our last day on Lantau Island afterall. We took the MTR from Central Hong Kong, under Victoria Harbor to Kowloon to catch the tour bus for the Pink Dolphins. The tour bus took us back to Lantau where we boarded a small boat to go in search of the dolphins. As we got underway, Zachary decided to show off his sea legs and didn't want to sit down.

A bunch of little fish were jumping out of our way and there was a tiny crab swimming beside us. It was a very hazy and hot day, and even out on the water, there was no breeze. It took a while to find the dolphins, but once we did, they were very playful and put on a show. Even with my new, fast camera, they were hard to capture, so I have a bunch of picture of open sea where dolphins used to be. That being said, I did get quite a few pictures! The adults are pink, while the younger ones are black, or speckled.

On the bus ride home, we discovered that some of people on the tour were from Laurel, MD! What a small world! We also met a lady from Mauritius, and a group of ladies from Japan.
Of course the boys fell asleep on the bus and we had to carry them to the MTR, on the MTR, and then to the hotel elevator, where they promptly woke up. We had a little snack and then hit the pool for an hour. They are both really improving! After dinner, we walked around in the underground shopping areas attached to the MTR. Alex and Zachary stayed up to watch the light show, and as soon as it was over, they were out like lights!

Here's a look at a hillside cemetery we saw from the bus.
