Fun Signs

Cool Stuff

Boxed ice tea vending machine. McD's delivers!

3 story gym, complete with escalator. Who needs orange cones, they have a van.

The traffic circle landscaping was cool, the taxis just add to it. Rooftop sports complex.

Channel guide in our room!

Dolphin garbage can. Fish decorations.

Plants, Bugs, Animals

We saw so many beautiful flowers, bugs, birds, fish, turtles, and bats. Well, the bats may not have been beautiful, but we saw them!

If you look very carefully, you can see some blurs that are bats flying around. And then the daytime blurs are dragonflies. We couldn't believe the swarms of dragonflies, but they are difficult to photograph.

Finally, some dragonflies sitting still!

At one of the many koi and turtle ponds.

Various and asundry bugs. I hadn't noticed the moth until after I took the picture. I wish there was a better scale for the beetle. It was huge!

Flowers. Alex collected the little bouquet from flowers that had fallen from the trees.

Birds. At first they look like birds from home, but on closer inspection, they are much fancier.

Cats. The first was on the Avenue of the Stars, and the second was at the Temple Street Night Market. Suddenly a momma cat was walking through the center of the market with her baby in her mouth.

Day 10~Heading Home

Our last day has arrived. We spent a couple of hours trying to fit everything back into our suitcases and arranged for a late check out. We also had our last breakfast in the executive lounge.
Then we headed back out to the ding ding and rode in the other direction, nearly to the end of the line.
In preparation for our late flight, we tried and tried to get the boys to sleep. Finally we contacted the front desk and asked for an even later check out and the boys napped. We checked our bags with the hotel and walked around Hong Kong Park for some final pictures.

Our taxi driver offered us the quicker (slightly more expensive) route to the airport, so we arrived 4 hours early. Luckily we didn't have any trouble with security or customs. Not much was open, but we had some dinner and then we found the most awesome play area in any airport.

Our four hours could have been a long, boring experience, but instead Alex and Zachary had so much fun driving the plane! When we boarded the real plane at midnight, they were both wide awake. During the taxiing to the runway, they both fell asleep. yay!
Back home in San Francisco! I'm not sure why they are so awake.
